Structural Biology and Genomics platform is an open platform which has played an important role within the european SPINE network and is an active player within the european Spine2Complexes network. The Platform is part of the Strasbourg Alsace-Lorraine Genopole and the Grand-Est Cancéropole. The platform has been inventoried as RIO platform in 2003 and 2006 and as IBiSA platform in 2008.
The Platform, located in Illkirch (C. U. Strasbourg), is open to academic and industrial users.  Projects may be deposited via the web site and will be examined by the Platform Scientific Committee (PSC).
The Platform has been implemented within the Structural Biology and Genomics Department (LBGS, IGBMC – C.U. Strasbourg) which is involved into structural genomics programs aiming at solving crystal structures of protein families members, alone or in complex with co-factors and protein partners, related to human health.
The Platform consists of three modules and offers facilities for:

automated cloning using the Gateway technology,

automated screening of expression conditions leading to soluble recombinant proteins,

large scale production facilities for selected candidates,

protein purification and characterization,

automated crystallization screening,

3D structure determination.
